Frequently Asked Questions
What are personalised stencils made from?
The same self-adhesive, low-tack vinyl we use across our glitter tattoo stencil range, designed for comfortable application and removal from skin. See our Stencil Safety Data Sheet in the Safety & Compliance Centre for full details.
Is there a minimum text size?
Yes. Keep lettering at least 5mm (around 0.2in) tall. Anything smaller risks tearing or lifting, and fine detail may not hold together once the stencil is used.
Which fonts work best?
Bold, simple typefaces work best. Think bold sans-serif or slab serif. Thin hairline serifs, delicate scripts and heavily decorative fonts tend to tear or lift, especially at smaller sizes.
Can I use a joined-up or script font?
Yes, connected letters just need to be "welded" into one continuous shape first, so there are no tiny gaps between letters left to weed. We'll take care of this when preparing your stencil.
Can I upload my own logo?
Yes, high-contrast, simple logos work best. If your logo has very fine detail or thin gradients, we may suggest a simplified version so it works cleanly, and we'll always check with you first.
Are personalised stencils reusable?
No. Like the rest of our stencil range, they're designed for single, temporary cosmetic use, which keeps things hygienic and gives the best, cleanest result each time.
Any skin safety notes?
Don't apply to broken, sore, irritated or freshly sunburnt skin, and always use with our Body Art Adhesive as directed. Full guidance is available in our Safety & Compliance Centre.
