How Do I Use Cosmetic Glitter?

Apply Adhesive
Use a thin, even layer of Body Art Adhesive wherever you want the glitter to sit.

Add the Glitter
Once the adhesive turns from white to clear but still feels tacky, usually 30 to 60 seconds, apply the glitter with a brush or your fingertip.

Press to Set
Gently press the glitter down so it holds firmly to the adhesive.

Brush Away Excess
Once set, brush away any loose glitter for a clean, finished look.

Is cosmetic glitter safe to use on skin?
Yes. All our glitter is cosmetic grade, made for the face, body and lips when used as directed. Keep it away from the eyes, and if you or your child have sensitive skin, do a quick patch test first. Each glitter has its own Safety Data Sheet in our Safety & Compliance Centre.
Which is best, biodegradable or classic cosmetic glitter?
Both look and apply very similarly, so it comes down to what matters to you. Our biodegradable glitter is made from cellulose film, in recyclable aluminium pots designed, printed and hand-filled here in the UK, with no plastic pots or bags. Our classic cosmetic glitter comes in great-value trios and multi-packs. We're moving away from plastic, but throwing away good stock would do more harm than using it, so we're selling what we have and replacing it with better versions as it runs out.
Do I need adhesive to use it?
For glitter tattoos and face or body art, yes. Apply a thin layer of Body Art Adhesive and wait until it turns from white to clear but still feels tacky, usually 30 to 60 seconds, then add the glitter. It usually lasts 3 to 5 days.
Can I use it for soap, wax melts or crafts?
Yes. As well as face and body art, customers use our glitter for soap making, wax melts, nails, cards and crafts.
How do I remove cosmetic glitter?
Smooth a little baby oil over the area and let it soak in, then wash off with soap and water. Please don't scrub, as this can irritate delicate skin.
What sizes are available?
Classic trios have three 5g pots. Multi-packs come as 15 x 5g round pots, or 16 x 2.5g heart or star pots. Biodegradable glitter comes in 2.5g, 5g and 15g pots, in three flake sizes: Fresh 008 (fine), Dance 040 (mini) and Glam 094 (chunky).
Can I mix colours together?
Yes. Many customers mix shades from different pots to create their own custom blend.
